Victorious English School

I had planned to be in Apple Country in February to help Bill and Rae open the new school year.  Well, my plans changed when I had to stay out of the country 60 days due to visa issues. I've been talking with Bill and Rae on the phone. They opened school with snow still on the ground. I sent some lesson plans for their pre-school and kindergarten until I can get there. Thanks to friends in Wake Forest, NC, I have some more teaching materials to take when I go next month. The needs are still great, but He is providing. In a few years the school will support their ministry in the area. I am praying for two believing English and Hindi speaking national teachers willing to volunteer there. It's difficult for the current small staff to teach the English curriculum.
The parents want a fence around the front of the property, but that hasn't happened yet. Bill and Rae are still praying for a school van, which will also generate income when used as a taxi. I am so thankful for those who have taken an interest in this tiny school. Some have sent supplies, some have expressed an interest in coming and helping to improve the facilities, and one retired teacher has sent funds to help. Bill and Rae are so appreciative. They covet your prayers.
I can't wait to return and try to help them fulfill their vision for the school. 

Big Girls Bible Club Lessons Learned From Dorcas

The day I returned home some of the girls came by to ask if we were having Bible Club Saturday. So, we had it, of course! Ten girls came. I had a late Valentine's Day party for the girls, celebrating the love of Jesus. Jerry and I made heart-shaped pick cookies for them. Thanks to a wonderful care package from Larry and Janis, I had Christian Valentines, conversation hearts, and red hots for the girls as well.
I told the story of Dorcas, a true example of kindness, goodness, and love. Dorcas was first, a disciple. She was obedient, as she gave to the poor and helped the widows by sewing tunics for them. She was resilient, caring, amiable, and a seamstress. You can read her story in Acts chapter 9.

The girls made beaded keychains in the shape of animals. It was great having them back in my home. It was great reminding them that Jesus loves them. 

Teacher Training

I had the blessing of presenting a four hour training for 30 teachers at the Muslim pre-school/kindergarten. We covered topics in math and spelling. They were very receptive. I have had an incredible time getting to know some of people here. I'm not sure who learned more!

I also held a training for the Light of Hope teachers with Becky, but forgot to take photos.
I take home a suitcase-full of memories of this corner of South Asia, and a better understanding of the needs, the work going on, and people. I am better equipped to pray for this country. If my dog were here, I might stay.
